Join the story of a group of four teenagers navigating life and their sense of self in a small Indigenous rural community. Winter comes back from the city for the summer and soon realizes she may not be as welcomed back as she hoped. She goes on to spend time with her group of best friends. Winter, Nunkra, Emma and Clem soon discover that things are not always as they appear the older they get as they butt heads doing their best to understand life. The four continue to march through the madness of their small town, growing up, dysfunctional families, and blossoming romances all while trying to stick closely together and to keep life the same as before. Will they stick close together as they have for years or will the pain of growing be too much for this friend group?

Purchase TicketsJustice by Leonard Linklater; Directed by Isabelle James-Walker
A gripping drama that sheds light on a little-known part of our nation’s history, Justice is inspired by the true story of the Nantuck brothers, the first men to be hanged in the fledgling Yukon territory. During the Klondike Gold rush of 1898, Indigenous and European cultures came together with sometimes tragic results. The accidental poisoning deaths of two members of the Tagish First Nation led to a cultural misunderstanding and clash of justice systems far from the reach of the papers of the day. Yukon playwright Leonard Linklater explores divergent views of justice in this fascinating play.
Audience Advisories: Discussions of legal systems, capital punishment, racist themes and language, illness and death.

Purchase TicketsWYRD - A Musical UnFairytale: Staged reading of phase 5 of development.
Rock concert. Musical. Unfairytale. WYRD has it all, without even a hint of a handsome prince. Think Alice in Wonderland or The Wizard of Oz – just add eviscerating social satire and a lot more mud.
Once upon a (pick a time in history), a woman escapes her abusive lover and finds herself in a dingy motel in the middle of nowhere. Mysteriously drawn into the woods, she wanders off the beaten path and discovers an ancient bog. There she encounters three mythical hags at their annual reunion (they’re not scary, they’re just misunderstood). Among the flatulating mushrooms, horny herons, a random game show, punk rocking crones, an egocentric King from a Shakespearean tragedy, and a visiting hag from 'down south', the woman navigates the bewildering darkness, trying to find the path home.
WYRD hilariously deconstructs everyday patriarchal norms and holds a mirror up for us to yank out our internalized misogyny and take a hearty gander at it.
Come and witness a staged reading of the latest phase of development of this exciting, Yukon-created musical.
Audience Advisories: Recommended for ages 15+. Parental guidance and discretion for anyone under that age. NOT suited to anyone under the age of 12.
General Admission: $15
Purchase TicketsAn open participation showcase of storytelling and the spoken word. Featured Poets - Alexis Koome & Matthew Toothill. Plus an Open Mic at the beginning of the evening!
Alexis Koome
Originally from the Gulf Islands and coming to the Yukon from Haida Gwaii, Alexis has been writing poetry inspired by the west coast for nearly two decades. Involved in spoken word since high school, her approach & style has evolved along with her life. Her poetry weaves rhythmic stories that will whisk you out to sea and deep into old growth forests. The Guild Hall is her Yukon debut.
Matthew Toothill
Yorkshire puddings and English buttys, Toothill draws inspiration from the deep troubadour history of British folk and the poetry. He moved to the Yukon in 2018 where his anecdote/storyteller based performance solidified and his unique on-stage presence was born. Simultaneously striving for center of attention whilst suffering from overstimulation; his poems speak of the last generation before the internet and a world that moves too fast.
Trina Moyles
Trina is the author of three non-fiction books, including Women Who Dig, Lookout, and Black Bear, her forthcoming memoir about growing up in northern Alberta during the boom of the oil sands and trying to heal the lines that divide us from wildlife and one another. Moyles writes regularly for The Narwhal, The Globe and Mail, and Hakai Magazine. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. Recently, she was a recipient of the Yukon Advanced Artist Award to work on her first novel about the decline of woodland caribou in Canada's boreal forests.
Open Mic
Artistic mastery is not required, let yourself be heard. A haiku, an anecdote, a prose poem, shopping list; you wrote it!? We want to hear it.
All are welcome, each encouraged.

Their "Electric Lemonade" 2024 summer tour will showcase the band's new direction. Performance highlights for Vanstones include opening for Serena Ryder, The Strumbellas, and Hannah Georgas, and performing at the Dawson City Music Festival.
