We're excited to announce a summer workshop series in storytelling at the Guild!

This workshop is designed for anyone who has ever had an interest in the interactive art of storytelling and would like to learn how to write and perform a 5-minute personal story for an audience. The story will be true and based on the storyteller's experience.

Over four sessions, you'll learn about finding the seed of your story, basic techniques to structure your story, voice, tone and intention, and performance. At the end of the workshops, you can choose to share your 5-minute story at the Guild's Round Back series (yes Round Back is happening this year - more info coming soon!).

Our instructor for this workshop is Jaime Mellot. Relatively new to Whitehorse, Jamie is an enthusiastic teller and listener of stories. Jaime has performed her original stories in Victoria at the Belfry Theatre, on Pender Island, and most recently in Whitehorse. She's trained with Deborah Williams, who runs the Flame, a storytelling show based out of Vancouver, and coached with Carol-Lynne Michaels through Confabulation in Victoria. Jaime lives with her husband, two sons, and a very hairy dog.
