By Kristen Thomson
Director: Allyn Walton

Our second production of our Nimble series is the wonderful one-woman show I, Claudia by Canadian playwright Kristen Thomson.

In this classic of Canadian theatre, one performer uses masks to create four distinct characters - Claudia, a young preteen, Drachman, a school janitor, Claudia’s grandfather Douglas, and Leslie, Claudia’s soon-to-be stepmom.

Together, these characters then take us on a riveting journey into the psyche of a 12-and-three-quarter year old girl with a lot on her mind: school projects, impending puberty, her dad’s remarriage and a hurting heart.

Winner of the 2001 Dora Moore Award for outstanding new play. "I, Claudia is blissfully funny and unexpectedly touching." - Richard Ouzounian
